Sustrans is a UK charity working for and with communities, helping them come to life by walking, wheeling and cycling to create healthier places and happier lives for everyone. Their project; Bike Life was the UK's biggest cycling survey in existence at the time. Joining Sustran's in-house designer, my role was to assist in designing the seven reports and preparing them for print.

The Mission:
To create seven data-heavy reports that tell a story in an accessible way. Reports need to represent the cities positively and yet influence policymakers to make changes.

The Challenges:
Working in partnership with several councils, researchers and environmental NGOs to represent their hard work whilst aligning with Sustran's established branding and tone of voice.

Services:
Report design
Infographics
Artworking
Social media visuals

The Outcome:
A cohesive template for each report that was widely acclaimed by the press and councils.

The Impact:
Bike Life has now received funding to develop further reports for more cities with bi-yearly reviews and policymakers are listening.

A consistent layout was designed for each report to follow.

The reports were aimed at reaching policy makers to put a positive case towards the need for greater sustainable transport.

Photography also played an important role in these reports, ensuring that a range of diversity was featured to authentically represent the communities of these cities.

I worked closely with representatives who gathered the data from each city to ensure accuracy in how their data is represented.
